Christopher Ligori is the President-Elect of the Florida Justice Association (FJA) and a respected trial attorney with more than 30 years of experience advocating for the injured. He will be sworn in as President in 2026.
Mr. Ligori’s dedication and skill have earned him recognition in Super Lawyers, an AV Preeminent® rating from Martindale-Hubbell®—the highest rating an attorney can receive—and selection to the National Trial Lawyers Top 100.
In August 2022, Chief Justice Carlos G. Muñiz of the Florida Supreme Court personally appointed Mr. Ligori to serve on the Judicial Management Council, He is one of only five practicing attorneys on this 15-member council, which also includes appellate, circuit, and county court judges. In this role, Mr. Ligori works directly with Chief Justice Muñiz, who serves as Chair, and Justice John Couriel, who serves as Vice Chair, to advance initiatives that improve the administration of justice statewide.
The Judicial Management Council is the Florida Supreme Court’s preeminent advisory body on improvement and reform of Florida’s civil justice system. Its mission includes recommending improvements to the rules of civil procedure, reviewing statutory proposals impacting the courts, proposing legislation and advising on policies designed to increase efficiency, fairness, and access to justice. The Council’s unique composition—judges from every level of judiciary and a select group of attorneys—ensures its recommendations reflect both judicial insight and the perspective of practitioners on the front lines of litigation.
Mr. Ligori is the founding member and owner of Christopher Ligori & Associates, established in 2000. He has dedicated his career to protecting the rights of accident victims and has tried more than 120 cases to verdict. He has been entrusted with some of Florida’s most complex and catastrophic personal injury matters, including cases involving traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, wrongful death, negligent security, trucking and auto collisions, premises liability, and first-party insurance disputes.
A seasoned litigator, Mr. Ligori has deposed and cross-examined leading experts in medicine, engineering, biomechanics, economics, radiology, digital forensics, life-care planning, and billing/coding. He has extensive experience in Frye and Daubert hearings and is well-versed in challenging and defending expert testimony.
Within the FJA, Mr. Ligori is a Distinguished Fellow and has been a consistent leader for more than a decade, serving on the Board of Directors, the Executive Committee and as a PAC Trustee since 2010. His committee work spans nearly every critical area of personal injury law, including Bad Faith, Medical Damages, Premises Liability, Autonomous Vehicles, Nursing Homes, Property Insurance, and Rules of Evidence and Procedure.
Beyond litigation, Mr. Ligori has been invited to testify before the Florida House and Senate on numerous occasions, providing guidance on legislative issues central to personal injury law. He is also a frequent lecturer at leading legal education programs, including the FJA’s Masters of Justice, Al Cone Trial School, Annual Convention, and Workhorse Seminar.
Mr. Ligori graduated with an Associate’s Degree from Florida State University in 1988, a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Florida in 1990, and earned his J.D. from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law in 1994. He has been a member in good standing of the Florida Bar since 1994.
Mr. Ligori remains deeply involved in the Tampa Bay community. He and his wife Sherrie—a former teacher of nine years at Bell Witter Elementary in Hillsborough County—share a strong commitment to giving back, with a particular focus on helping children in need. Together with his firm, they support numerous charities and churches across Tampa Bay, contributing both time and resources to improve the lives of local children. One of their most meaningful traditions, carried on for nearly two decades, has been taking more than 100 underprivileged children Christmas shopping each year at Target—a tradition Mr. Ligori considers one of his family’s and firm’s most rewarding efforts.
Mr. Ligori and Sherrie, his wife of more than 27 years, are both proud fourth-generation Tampa natives. They value the city’s rich history and the vibrant culture shaped by Spanish, Cuban, and Sicilian immigrants who settled in Ybor City in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. They are the proud parents of two daughters, who once appeared in his well-known television advertisement as his “unpaid spokes children” when they were just 13 and 10 years old. Today, his oldest daughter, Alessandria, is in her third year at Stetson University College of Law, while his younger daughter, Juliana, is pursuing her undergraduate degree in Communications at the University of Miami. Mr. Ligori is immensely proud of his daughters, their values, and their work ethic, and he has cherished watching them grow into the women they are today.
